On January 6, the Australian Open officially announced its 2026 prize money distribution. For the first time in tournament history, the total prize pool has exceeded A$100 million, reaching a record A$111.5 million, representing a 16% increase compared to the 2025 season.
In the men’s and women’s singles events, champions will receive A$4.15 million, up 19% from last year’s A$3.5 million. At the same time, the Australian Open continues to place greater emphasis on supporting lower-ranked players. Even players eliminated in the first round of the main draw will earn A$150,000, providing valuable financial support at the start of the season.
Prize money for the qualifying rounds has also increased. Compared to 2025, the three qualifying rounds will award A$40,500, A$57,000, and A$83,500 respectively, each reflecting a 16% rise.
The 2026 Australian Open will take place from January 12 to February 1. Qualifying matches are scheduled from January 12 to 15, while the main draw begins on January 18. The women’s singles final will be held on January 31, followed by the men’s singles final on February 1.
