IT Home reported on February 3 that Ji Dong Group announced it will invest over RMB 1.3 billion during the 2026 Spring Festival holiday (nine days) to provide benefits and subsidies for frontline employees working through the holiday.
According to information released via JD’s internal bulletin, the subsidies will cover couriers, full-time delivery riders, customer service staff, and store employees. Benefits include overtime pay, Spring Festival cash bonuses, and family reunion subsidies for employees’ children, with standards said to exceed statutory requirements.
JD also said it will run holiday care activities across a wide range of sites nationwide, including delivery stations, logistics warehouses, housekeeping training centers, JD Auto Service locations, electronics retailers, food outlets, pharmacies, and supermarket stores. Activities include writing Spring Festival couplets/“Fu” characters, making dumplings, and distributing winter care packages. In some regions, “Rider Homes” facilities will also allow employees’ family members to visit for reunions to support those spending the holiday away from home.
JD shared several examples: a Beijing full-time rider estimated his holiday subsidies could reach up to RMB 6,000; a delivery couple used the reunion subsidy to bring their child to Beijing; and a local station manager planned a New Year’s Eve dinner and invited colleagues from other business units. JD added that its New Year shopping festival started on January 25 and services will continue operating throughout the holiday.
