In the early hours of February 23, Zhao Xintong came from behind to defeat veteran Higgins 10-7 in the 2026 Players Championship final. Trailing 6-7, Zhao won four consecutive frames, including two centuries (104, 126) and six 50+ breaks, to clinch his 5th ranking title.
This marks Zhao’s 3rd title of the season (Riyadh Masters, World Grand Prix, Players Championship) and maintains his perfect 100% record in ranking finals.
