(Guangzhou, March 30) Chinese singer Joker Xue faced unexpected challenges during his King of Beasts concert tour in Guangzhou on March 29, as heavy rain caused major technical failures in the sound, lighting, and control systems.
About an hour into the show, Xue noticed that the stage performance quality had been significantly affected. He immediately apologized to the audience, stating frankly: “If it’s not good, it’s not good—I can’t just let it slide.” He then announced that the portion already performed would be made completely free, with no charges to the audience.
In addition, he promised full refunds for all tickets and introduced a compensation plan: out-of-town attendees can claim reimbursement for flights and accommodation, while local fans can exchange their tickets for future shows—demonstrating remarkable accountability.
Despite the situation, Xue continued performing and added encore songs Actor and Serious Snow, sparking a massive singalong among thousands of fans and creating an emotional atmosphere.
Many attendees shared that the technical issues were not overly disruptive, but were deeply moved by Xue’s commitment to excellence and refusal to compromise.
According to online estimates, the stage production cost reached approximately RMB 300 million (around MYR 174.5 million). Combined with repair costs, refunds, and compensation, total losses could amount to tens of millions of RMB—marking one of the most notable examples of artist accountability in recent concert history.
