Yang Hansen Assigned to G League Playoffs: One-Game Elimination Test Awaits
On April 2, the Portland Trail Blazers announced that Chinese prospect Yang Hansen has been assigned to their G League affiliate, Rip City Remix, for the playoffs.
The Remix will face the Mexico City Capitanes in the first round, which follows a single-elimination format—win or go home.
Just one day earlier, Portland defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 114-104. Although Yang was recalled, he did not play—marking his 20th DNP of the season.
Adding to the challenge, Yang is required to travel from Los Angeles to Mexico City (a 3.5-hour flight) on the same day before competing in a high-stakes playoff game.
Despite this, his G League regular-season performance has been impressive: 17.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game, with an efficient 62.4% field goal percentage.
The Remix finished 7th in the Western Conference (19-17), while the Capitanes ranked 2nd. The two teams split their regular-season matchups, suggesting a competitive showdown.
With all playoff rounds except the finals decided by single elimination, the margin for error is minimal.
This game could be a defining moment—
Can Yang Hansen rise to the occasion and lead an upset?
