Hong Kong, 23rd — The “VIRTUOSE: The Art of Haute Couture 2025” fashion event, presented by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association, was held yesterday (22nd) at Central Pier 4. The evening showcase attracted numerous industry figures, including Simon Yam and his wife Qi Qi, William Chang, Deanie Ip, Kathy Chow, Amanda S., Carl Ng, Carlos Chan, Lai Chun, Ng Ka-yan, Alex Tong, and Angus Tong.
A minor accident occurred when Simon Yam walked toward Qi Qi for a group photo with curator and project director Zang Kit-man. Yam accidentally tripped over the carpet and fell forward, even sending his glasses flying. The audience gasped, but the 70-year-old actor reacted swiftly — he rolled forward and landed in a stylish one-knee pose, drawing applause for his agility reminiscent of an action scene.
Deanie Ip, who was being interviewed nearby, was startled and immediately approached him. Yam quickly flashed a “V” sign and joked, “Amazing!” to show he was unharmed, easing the tension and prompting Ip to smile in relief.
Qi Qi later picked up his glasses and checked the spot where he tripped before they continued their photo session. Yam later said that fashion is full of imagination and creativity, and joked that his “performance” made the show even more perfect.
When praised for his agility, Yam laughed and admitted he was “still doing okay,” and revealed he will be holding a personal photography exhibition at the Fringe Club on December 11, featuring his recent harbor-themed works.
