On January 27, Chery officially launched its first all-electric pickup, the Welyin R08 EV, offering six variants with prices ranging from ¥127,800 to ¥158,800. The pickup features a body-on-frame structure and is available in single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive configurations.
The Welyin R08 EV sports a large polygonal front grille with honeycomb black accents and a central RELY logo. The hood bears the “Welyin” lettering, enhancing brand recognition. The vehicle comes in standard and long-bed versions: the standard model measures 5330/1920/1890mm (L/W/H) with a cargo bed of 1530×1620×515mm, while the long-bed stretches to 5610mm with a bed depth of 1810mm.
Inside, the cabin leans toward passenger-car comfort with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and floating center displays of 15.6-inch or 12.3-inch. The two-tone brown-and-black interior with chrome accents elevates the overall feel. Higher trims come equipped with intelligent driving aids, including adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
The single-motor RWD version delivers 150kW and 350N·m, accelerating 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. The dual-motor AWD version reaches 300kW and 540N·m, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. Battery options include 66.54kWh and 88kWh packs, offering a range of approximately 405-510 km.
