(Kuala Lumpur, Feb 12) Hartamodal, a licensed venture capital firm under Tradeview Capital, announced a strategic investment in Sarawak-based AI solutions company NEUON AI, which has successfully commercialized advanced AI technology across multiple high-impact domains.
The investment was made through Hartamodal’s first fund, the RM70 million Dana Impian. To date, Hartamodal has deployed a total of RM15 million into three tech startups. The fund aims to accelerate the commercialization and nationwide adoption of industrial AI solutions, supporting deployment of advanced technology in critical sectors. The firm noted this follows its June 2025 investment in healthtech platform Connect & Heal, reinforcing its commitment to backing Malaysian founders and driving digital transformation.
Hartamodal executive director Chen Qingwen said NEUON AI, led by co-founder and CEO Cai Gaojian, excels at translating deep academic AI research into scalable, high-impact commercial solutions, with patented applications in road asset management, forest conservation, and sports science. He added that Associate Professor Zheng Meili, dean of the ICT faculty at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, played a key role in facilitating the deal.
NEUON AI said the backing marks a major milestone and that Hartamodal’s expertise and long-term value approach align with its mission. The company plans to accelerate the delivery of world-class, Malaysia-developed AI solutions for key industries.
