At the Welsh Open, Zhao Xintong narrowly defeated Fan Zhengyi 4-3 in the round of 64, advancing to the last 32.
In the past 15 days, Zhao has captured two major titles back-to-back: first, the Snooker World Grand Prix, earning £180,000 (~1.7 million RMB), and then the Snooker Players Championship, taking home £150,000 (~1.4 million RMB), totaling approximately 3.1 million RMB in prize money.
After his double triumph, Zhao hosted six fellow Chinese players competing in Llandudno—Xiao Guodong, Yuan Sijun, Pang Junxu, Zhang Anda, Zhou Yuelong, and Jiang Jun—for a celebratory dinner.
In his Welsh Open opening match, Zhao recorded two centuries (132, 111) and two 50+ breaks (65, 71), finishing the deciding frame with a 71-point break to win 4-3. With this victory, Zhao has now secured 10 consecutive wins. The Welsh Open champion prize is £100,000 (~930,000 RMB), and Zhao is aiming for a third consecutive title to continue his winning streak.
