At the Swiss Open, Malaysia’s independent shuttler Lee Zii Jia exited in the first round, while national player Heo Soh Wei advanced after a tough three-game comeback.
Lee lost 12–21, 14–21 to Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew, ending his campaign in just 28 minutes.
Meanwhile, Heo defeated France’s Arnaud Merkle in three games to reach the round of 16, where he will face India’s Tharun.
In women’s singles, Malaysia suffered one exit but also secured a spot in the last 16 through Wong Ling Ching.
In mixed doubles, Huang Xian Wei / Lai Pei Jing were the only Malaysian pair to advance. Two Malaysian men’s doubles pairs also progressed to the next round.
