(Kuala Lumpur, April 3) Local singer-songwriter Danny Koo recently celebrated his 38th birthday in early March by purchasing his dream Porsche. However, less than a month after getting the new car, it was involved in an unfortunate incident—its left side mirror was smashed by a bus door, leaving him both shocked and disappointed.
In a video he shared on social media on March 31, Koo was seen driving along a road where two buses were parked on the left. Suddenly, the door of one bus swung open without warning, giving him no time to react. The impact shattered his side mirror instantly, ripped out its connecting wires, and caused additional damage to the car body.
Despite the incident, Koo remained composed, saying, “As long as I’m safe, that’s what matters. Of course it hurts since it’s a new car, but thankfully it’s just the side mirror.” He also spoke on behalf of the bus driver, who claimed the door “opened on its own,” though Koo admitted he was unsure of the exact cause.
The incident quickly sparked online discussions. Some netizens criticized the driver’s explanation, questioning, “How can a door open by itself? Many people open doors without checking for cars or motorcycles behind.” Others joked lightly, saying, “Boss, that side mirror isn’t cheap—it’s a Porsche!” Fellow celebrities also chimed in with concern, with influencer Pei Yong humorously commenting, “Well, that’s one more reason to get a new car.”
