According to transfer expert Nicolo Schira, the Chinese Football Association is making efforts to bring Fabio Cannavaro back as head coach of the national team. However, the Italian tactician has yet to accept the offer, as he is currently awaiting an opportunity from a European club.
Cannavaro is no stranger to Chinese football. Back in March–April 2019, he briefly served as interim head coach of Team China, though his tenure ended with two defeats in the China Cup.
Now, the CFA hopes Cannavaro’s leadership and reputation could help revitalize the squad. Whether he will return, however, depends on developments in Europe.
