(Sydney, Nov 22) The Australia Open Super 500 entered its semifinal stage today, where Malaysia’s independent men’s doubles pair Wu Shifei/Nor Izzuddin (“Fei/Ting”) faced Indonesia’s Raymond/Nicholas. After two hard-fought games, Fei/Ting fell 0–2 and missed out on a spot in the final.
In the first game, both sides traded points closely, battling from 1–1 all the way to 9–9. The Indonesian pair pulled ahead briefly at 11–9, but the Malaysians quickly leveled again at 12–12. After tying 15–15, Indonesia suddenly stepped up their pace and launched a decisive 6–0 run, taking the game 21–15.
In the second game, Fei/Ting started strong with a 5–2 lead, but Indonesia responded and leveled the score at 8–8 before overtaking to 12–9. The Malaysians continued to chase and caught up again at 14–14. However, Indonesia once again accelerated, scoring three straight points for 17–14 and finishing the match with another 4–0 run, sealing it 21–15.
Fei/Ting ultimately fell 15–21, 15–21 and ended their Australia Open campaign in the semifinals.
