Veteran Taiwanese actor Ma Ju-lung (birth name Huang Zhengxiong) passed away in 2019 from lung adenocarcinoma at the age of 80. That same year, his grandson Huang Bojun also died in a tragic traffic accident. Recently, Ma’s son, Huang Renlong, was reported to have died suddenly at home. He was only 49, and the family has confirmed the heartbreaking news.
According to Taiwanese media, Ma’s fourth daughter, Huang Yongqi, said she and her brother went to the hospital on the 2nd for a health check-up. After the appointment, she drove him home at around 4 p.m., and he appeared fine at the time. However, at about 6 p.m., she received a call from her sister-in-law, who said Huang Renlong had been found unconscious on the floor in his room. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Huang Yongqi recalled that they had been together earlier that day and that everything seemed normal when she dropped him off. She noted that the two-hour window between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. has become a key focus in understanding what happened.
The family said he was sent to the hospital immediately. During resuscitation, his heartbeat reportedly returned briefly, but doctors later found his condition had worsened, and he ultimately did not survive. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Huang Yongqi added that her brother had generally been in good health. Although there was a minor injury near his brow—possibly from hitting a corner, causing some bleeding—doctors reportedly said the wound was small and not considered fatal. As the case still requires further examination procedures, a death certificate cannot be issued immediately, and the family is awaiting the prosecutor’s review. Speaking emotionally, she said she struggled to accept how an apparent fall could lead to such a tragic outcome.
She also reflected on earlier family tragedies. Before Ma Ju-lung’s passing, her eldest son, Huang Bojun, died in a car accident at the age of 22. Not long after, she suffered the loss of her father as well. She previously expressed guilt, believing the shock of her son’s death may have deeply worried her father and possibly contributed to his declining health.
