Shenzhen started strong with a 9-2 run, but Beijing responded with a 16-3 surge to take the lead. The first quarter ended tied at 28-28. In the second quarter, Shenzhen regained control behind Smith’s all-around play, leading 56-54 at halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive. After briefly falling behind, Shenzhen launched a 14-2 run to reclaim momentum, with Smith scoring 14 points in the period to give his team an 84-76 lead heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Shenzhen extended their lead to 15 points, seemingly putting the game away. However, Beijing mounted a fierce comeback led by Liller, who hit multiple key shots. In the closing moments, Liller scored a go-ahead layup that looked like a game-winner.
But Shenzhen had the final say—Smith delivered a clutch mid-range buzzer-beater to seal a dramatic 104-103 victory.
Smith finished with 36 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, leading all players. He Xining and Li Muhao also contributed key performances. On the other side, Liller exploded for 45 points, including six three-pointers.
