(Kuala Lumpur, July 28) Episode five of Singer 2026: Malaysia aired on Saturday night, featuring the second Challenger Round and the Repechage Round as the competition officially entered the semi-finals. After a series of intense performances and eliminations, the seven finalists have now been confirmed.

The latest episode combined two crucial formats, with both the Challenger Round and Repechage Round determining not only the fate of the remaining contestants but also the final places in the grand finale.

Malaysian vocal powerhouse Ernie Zakri and rising singer Layla Sania entered the competition as challengers. Following a vote among the resident contestants, Yazmin Aziz and Vanessa Reynauld were selected to face them.

Ernie impressed with her hit Masing Masing, incorporating a Chinese version titled Ge Zi Wu Yang, while Layla delivered a powerful rendition of the classic Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies. Both challengers successfully secured victory.

Following the revised rankings, Yazmin Aziz and Lim Wen Sun dropped to the bottom and were eliminated, triggering the Repechage Round, which offered one final opportunity to return to the competition.

Competing against Wong Yoke Yee and Angie Phing, Yazmin first performed Pink Pony Club before delivering an emotional performance of Tiada Lagi in the Repechage Round. Her consistent vocals and commanding stage presence earned her enough public votes to secure the final spot in the grand finale.

The final rankings for the episode were: Jacqueline Victor, Chen Ying En, Vanessa Reynauld, Lai Song Feng, Priscilla Abby, Azariah Tan, Yazmin Aziz and Lim Wen Sun.

Despite her elimination, Lim Wen Sun remained positive, saying she had no regrets and was proud of her performances throughout the competition.

Jacqueline Victor claimed another weekly championship with an inspiring performance of This Is Me, while Chen Ying En finished second with Our Love. Priscilla Abby also delivered one of the evening's most emotional moments after breaking into tears following her heartfelt performance of One Starry Night.

With the final seven officially confirmed, Singer 2026: Malaysia is now set for its grand finale, where one contestant will ultimately be crowned champion.
