According to ZAKER Technology, Apple officially announced on July 8 that Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jeff Williams will retire later this month, with his operational responsibilities being handed over to veteran executive and Apple Senior Vice President of Operations Sabih Khan.
Williams will continue reporting to Apple CEO Tim Cook and lead the design team and Apple Watch projects until his retirement. After he retires, the design team will report directly to Cook, marking an organizational adjustment.
Sabih Khan has nearly 30 years of experience at Apple and has served as Senior Vice President of Operations since 2019, overseeing Apple’s global supply chain management. His promotion is seen as a stable succession in Apple’s operations team, supporting ongoing improvements in global supply chain and operational efficiency.
This leadership change marks a new chapter in Apple’s operations management and highlights the company’s commitment to nurturing and passing on internal talent.
