In a bold push for the 2025/26 Premier League title, Arsenal has once again made waves in the transfer market. According to The Athletic, Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres is on the verge of joining the Gunners for a reported €63.5 million plus up to €10 million in performance-related bonuses, pushing the club’s summer spending beyond €220 million.
So far, Arsenal has secured five new signings: goalkeeper Kepa, midfielders Zubimendi and Nørgaard, winger Madueke, and defender Mosquera. The addition of Gyökeres is widely viewed as manager Mikel Arteta’s final piece in his long-term squad-building strategy.
Since taking over as Arsenal manager on December 22, 2019, Arteta has overseen a staggering level of investment. Summer window spending in each season under his leadership:

- 2022–23: €186.4M
- 2023–24: €234.94M
- 2024–25: €108.9M

With these figures, Arsenal’s total transfer spending under Arteta has officially surpassed €1 billion. Yet, in terms of major silverware, the return has been modest: 1 FA Cup and 2 Community Shields — but no Premier League or Champions League titles so far.
