Following the release of the BE211 in July, Intel has expanded its Wi-Fi 7 product line with the introduction of the BE213 wireless card, positioned for the mid-range market.
Specifications: A Step Below BE211
Compared with the BE211, the BE213 has trimmed specifications:
- Tri-Band Support: 2.4GHz / 5GHz / 6GHz, 2T2R dual-antenna design;
- Bandwidth: up to 160MHz (BE211 supports 320MHz);
- Data Rate: peak speed reduced to 2.8Gbps, compared to BE211’s 5.8Gbps.
Still, the BE213 brings meaningful upgrades in some areas:
- Modulation raised from 1024QAM to 4096QAM;
- Maximum throughput slightly improved over BE203 (2.4Gbps → 2.8Gbps);
- Supports Wi-Fi 7 R2 certification and Bluetooth 6.0.
Product Variants: Two Form Factors
Intel offers the BE213 in two configurations:
- NGW: M.2 2230 standalone expansion card;
- D2W: M.2 1216 BGA onboard version, designed for ultrabooks and custom devices.
Market Positioning: Mid-Range Upgrade Path
Overall, the BE213 can be viewed as the CNVio3 evolution of the BE203, combining lower power consumption with stronger compatibility, while adding Wi-Fi 7 R2 and Bluetooth 6.0 support. It targets users seeking solid performance without needing extreme bandwidth.
