SpaceX has once again pushed the boundaries of rocket reusability. On August 28 at 4:12 AM ET, the company successfully launched a batch of Starlink satellites using a Falcon 9 rocket whose first-stage booster, designated B1067, achieved its 30th successful orbital launch and recovery—setting a new world record for booster reuse.
This historic milestone comes just weeks after B1067 completed its 29th mission on July 2, which at the time marked a reuse record and also pushed the total number of Falcon 9 launches past the 500 mark.
Reusability lies at the core of SpaceX’s strategy to drastically lower launch costs and increase launch frequency. In 2024 alone, the company conducted 134 missions—an average of one launch every 2.72 days—demonstrating an unprecedented cadence in the commercial space sector.
In addition to the mature Falcon 9 platform, SpaceX is accelerating development of its next-generation Starship system. On August 27, Starship completed another major test flight. Elon Musk has publicly stated his vision of one day achieving 24 Starship launches within a single 24-hour period, signaling a bold leap toward ultra-high-frequency spaceflight.
